MAPLETON--L. Roy Michaud, 63, passed away on October 28, 2013 in Saco, Maine at the house of his brother and wife, Richard and Terry Michaud. Roy was born on July 26, 1950 in Winterville, Maine the son of Roland Michaud and Geneva Gagnon.
Roy worked as a logger and foreman for Great Northern Paper company for 20 plus years then became owner/operator of Big Machias Lake Hunting Camps for 25 years, as well as trapper for Wildlife Services, a private contractor perambulating town lines, and was a registered Maine Guide. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Masons, Knights Templar, Maine Trappers Association, NRA, and Maine Guides Association. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, snow sledding, trapping, playing chess and cribbage, reading, and collecting coins and guns.
He is survived by his children; Keith L. Michaud of Mapleton, and Stacey L. Michaud and her husband Michael G. of Presque Isle, grandchildren; Patrick M. Michaud and Joseph J. Michaud, his siblings; Richard R. Michaud and his wife Terry of Saco, Karen G. Winiarski and her husband Kenneth of Presque Isle and Tammy A. Fenyo and her husband John of Medford, NY.
