Friends and relatives may call Saturday June 29, 2013 from 11am to 12:30 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate funeral Home 365 Main St, saco. Visiting hours will be concluded with Masonic and Military Honors.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery on July 1st, 2013.

Biddeford, Reed W. Rumery, 89, of Granite Point Rd passed away June 23, 2013 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Saco, August 31, 1923 the son of Jesse E and Jeannette Scamman Rumery.
He attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1943. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific, on the USS Abbot, until 1947.
Returning to Maine, he became a brick layer worked throughout the Eastern United States.
In 1960, he started working at the Marblehead Boatyard and then at Rumery’s Boatyard.
For many years, he was also a lobsterman out of the Biddeford Pool and Granite Point area.
During this time, he served as an Alderman for the City of Saco.
Reed was a member of the International Order of Old Fellows (I.O.O.F) and the Dunlap Masonic Lodge # 47 of Biddeford.
He was also a member of the Biddeford Pool Volunteer Fire Department and Past President of the Fisherman’s Association of Biddeford Pool.
He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Reed is survived by his wife of 67 years of marriage, Nancy Fairfield Rumery of Biddeford, 2 daughters Linda Boivin and her husband Andy of Saco and Joyce Owczarski and her husband Gregg of Freeport, Florida, a sister Mary Llyn Fairfield of Biddeford, 3 grandchildren Christopher, Jennifer and Stefanie, 3 great grandchildren, Kaia, Ava and Sophia.

Dad was a great father, grandfather, bonus grandfather, and friend to so many. Words cannot say how much I will miss him but I am sooooo glad to have so many wonderful memories. I love you, Dad.
