BIDDEFORD- Earl Gilbert Inman, age 93, of Biddeford Estates, formerly of Sanford, passed away on Sunday June 16, 2013 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
He was born in Saco, Maine on May 27, 1920, a son of the late A. Owen and Bertha (Green) Inman, and graduated with honors from Thornton Academy in 1939.
Earl proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. During his enlistment he was stationed in the Mediterranean region, mainly in Corsica, arming and preparing B-25ís for missions.
After returning home, he went on to work for Lunder Shoe as a shipping and receiving clerk; however, the majority of his working years were farming at Cole Farm Dairy in Dayton.
He was active in several Baptist Church organizations and enjoyed reading, and playing games- especially Yahtzee.
Earl is predeceased by his first wife Helen (Goodwin) Inman in 1982 and second wife- Madelyn (Marks) Inman in 2003; a son- Everett Inman; and a brother- Alfred Inman.
He is survived by his son- David Inman and his wife Claire of Hollis; brother- William Inman of CA; sister- Ida Payne of WA; a grandson- Matthew Roberge; two granddaughters- Bernice Wellington and Valerie Weatherby; a great grandson, two great granddaughters; a step great granddaughter; two step great great grandsons;a large extended family including the Marks family who are mostly from NH; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Goodwins Mills Village Cemetery at a later date.
