My sincere condolences to Roland's family. I am a distant cousin of Roland and we connected on Facebook a couple of years ago. I will always remember Roland for his big heart. Back in November of 2012 we adopted a family of 6 children here in Atlanta through my business and Roland did not even blink twice to mail money so that we could help those children have a wonderful Christmas. When he and his wife took their recent trip to HI, I received a voice mail at my business one morning from Roland stating "Randy, it's your cousin Roland, send more money!" lol. Oh, how I will miss his humor and his daily harassing on Facebook. You are at peace now, Cousin Roland and know that you leave behind a family and entire community that mourns for you. Much love, Cuz Randy LaSante

My deepest condolences to all of Roland's family and friends. From reading all the of the heartfelt tributes, it reaffirms what I knew just from the interactions online I had with him. He was a man of incredible humor, heart and kindness. I also was involved in a the charity drive we had for some underprivileged children at Christmas. As soon as he heard about it, he mailed a generous check to kick start us in our venture. From that point on I enjoyed his posts on facebook and was overwhelmed when he mailed a present to his cousin Randy, from Hawaii, in which he included a thoughtful present for me. Who does that? I never met him in person but was so excited to this July. I will someday, and then I will share a hug and tell him how true I think his heart was and how lucky I was to have known him for just a little while. My hopes for comfort for you all, are that you celebrate his life and wrap yourself in your wonderful memories of him . With a heavy heart, Kathy Poth

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Roland.. I served two tours in Vietnam as well. Although I did not know him, I did. All of us Vietnam Veterans are brothers. I know that he touched the lives of countless people. As a Bronze Star Veteran myself, I well know what it takes to earn that. May God Bless all of you and God Bless the USA. Rest in peace my brother, and thank you for your service. The world is different for what you did.

The world needs a lot more people like Roland Pelletier. He was the very definition of a community leader and a passionate voice for those who are often without a voice. His generosity and gentle nature will be long remembered, and those of us who knew him will remain forever in his debt for the lessons learned. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Roland will be sadly missed in the neighborhood and in the city. He was our watchdog, our passionate spokesman, our researcher, and our rally leader when it came to city politics and actions. We will miss seeing him riding down the street in his motorcycle. He was a kind, generous, thoughtful man. We loved his sense of humor, and we are glad to have known him. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Valerie and the family.

To a wonderful family in a time of great grief, to be able to stop and reflect on the wonderful husband, father and pepere that has past on but he has left us with great memories of how people should treat one another. As often as he was acknowledged for everything he has done throughout his entire life, just begins to touch everything he gave to his family, community and country. I will remember him for each political adventure we shared, his loyalty to the children of Biddeford, his support to the school system and his love for his family. The only thing that has occurred is that an imperfect container has shattered and now Roland's spirit is allowed to live on in his family and friends. My all these people who are extending their form of support help to bring comfort and love to the family.

My wife Jude and I extend our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pelletier family. Roland embodied the example of service for country and community and I will always remember his steadfast leadership and mentorship. I will also never forget how, with tongue in cheek, he never missed an opportunity to remind me that I retired from the Air Force and not the Army. May your soul rest in peace 1SG. You will never be forgotten.

I was saddened to hear that the family's big brother had passed. I remember him in my childhood as the eldest child in the family, and brother that everyone looked up to. From his obituary it is very clear that he flourished throughout his life and became a big brother to many people in the Community. His passing is a big loss and not forgotten. Wishing the family peace in times of great sorrow. What a sad day to leave the earth.
