Visitation Information:
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening, May 2, from 6-8 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd) in Buxton (Bar Mills). A graveside service with military honors will be held privately amongst Frederick’s family at South Buxton (Tory Hill) Cemetery.

Obituary:
BUXTON- Frederick Louis McDonald, age 92, passed away on April 29, 2013 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a period of declining health.
He was born in Sacksville, New Brunswick, Canada on July 19, 1920, a son of the late Charles and Eva (O’Brien) McDonald.
After graduating high school, Frederick proudly served his country by enlisting into the US Army during WWII and served stateside throughout the war attached to the last true horse cavalry division.
Frederick was employed for many years at Pratt and Whitney, Tommy’s Hardware and was also employed as a commercial diver for large construction projects.
He enjoyed horseback riding, woodworking, and diving. Because of his advanced skill level in diving, he taught diving at the YMCA and trained divers to handle difficult situations.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife- Norma (Scribner) McDonald; sons- Dean McDonald and Scott McDonald; and all his siblings- Norman, Jean, Helen and Annie.
Frederick is survived by his children- Margo Bale and her husband Richard of Buxton, Paul McDonald and his wife Carol of Buxton, David McDonald and his wife Denise of Hollis, and Dennis McDonald and his wife Gail of Waterboro; step children-Norene, Carol and Suzanne; grandchildren- ChrisAnn, Melissa, Stacie, Ryan, Matthew, Michael, and Alison; and great grandson- Anthony Dean.
