Obituary:
John Paul Griffin, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 22, 2022 at Gosnell Hospice House. He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on April 9, 1949 and lived in southern Maine since the early 1980s. For the last 18 years, he ran Oceanside Computer Services, serving as a friendly and reliable resource for the community.


He made friends everywhere he went with his irrepressible sense of humor and big heart. He loved bringing joy to others, whether he was dressing up as Santa Claus for the Whitten family Christmas or performing wedding ceremonies for dear family and friends. He was always taking on new challenges and sharing his passions, from teaching karate to learning to play the piano in his 60s and expressing his love for music. Anyone who spent time with him knew him for his humorous stories; he continued to crack jokes and maintained his upbeat sense of humor until the end.


He built a home and business with the love of his life Donna Griffin, his partner in every aspect of life and his rock. He was endlessly proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. . He never hesitated to reach out and support anyone who needed his help—every day there was a new story about how he touched someone’s life and was there when they needed him.


John is survived by his wife, Donna Whitten Griffin and children, Helen Corria of Fall River Mass, Debbra and Patrick Irving of Mountain Top,Pennsylvania. John Griffin Jr and wife Lisa of Connecticut, Sandra Griffin and her partner Gregory Rego of Somerset Mass, Kevin and Renee Duvall of Owesa NY, Rebecca Griffin and her partner, Rob Ewing of California, Rachel and Aaron Accurso of Manhattan, NY, and step-daughter Amy Whitten and her partner Weston Currier of Sanford Maine. John is also survived by two sisters, Linda Lynn of Fall River, Ma and Dorothy Campbell of Swansea, Ma and 3 brothers Edward McVey of New York, Joseph and LInda Rebello of Fall River, Ma and Robert Rebello of Fall River, Ma. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Barbara Silva, Helen Lucas, Thomas Griffin, Beverly Vickery and Harry McVey.
