A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 1776, 14521 Granada Drive, Apple Valley, MN on November, 7, 2021, 2- 5pm.

Kapitan, Kent R. Age 69, Apple Valley, MN passed away October 4, 2021 in Saco, Maine while on vacation with his wife. He finished his bucket list of visiting all of the lower 48 states. He was born December 27, 1951 to Gordon & Leola (Anderson) Kapitan. Preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Southwest High School (1970) and Brown Institute (1971). He had a career of emceeing different events, including rodeos. He was the founder of KRK Entertainments and entertainment director of Peabody's, a local country bar. Later he became a logics coordinator for many companies including Embraer Aircrafts. Kent was an avid motorcyclist. He escorted funerals processions. He was a member of the MN Gold Wings and Patriot Guard Riders. He gave support to the veterans and their families. He was a member of the the Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders. He loved the blues and was on the MN Blues Society Board of Directors. Kent also loved camping, singing karaoke and spending time with his family. In January of 2000, he met his wife, Renee Plinski. They were married on November 11, 2017. Survived by his wife, his son, Kohl Kapitan of Chandler, AZ; a stepson, Shane (Jill) Finnerud of Galesville, WI; 3 stepdaughters, Sarah (Kyle) Glover of St. Charles, MN, Tommi (Michael) Hoeben of Prior Lake, MN, Rikki (Travla) Gilow, Apple Valley, MN; 10 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Kevin (Valerie) Kapitan of Brownsburg, IN, Kreg (Kathy) Kapitan of Brooklyn Park, MN, Keith (Ember) Kapitan of Eden Prairie, MN; 2 stepsisters, Rita (John) Banicki of Winona, MN, Deborah Prenot of Rochester, MN; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
