Obituary:
Old Orchard Beach - Thomas John Wilmar 69, Tom,or TJ as most of his friends knew him, was the eldest of seven children born to John and Betty Dandanell Wilmar. Growing up with his Dad in the Airforce, TJ had many stories to tell, especially of life as a 16 year old in the Philippines.
It was there that he began playing the drums, which became a life long passion. TJ played in the band "Mainely Country" while living in central Maine and sat in for the drummer at Howl At The Moon in Orlando, Florida. His most vivid memory of drumming was in Springfield Mass. When his band, Albatross, played as the opening act for "The Grass Roots".
TJ loved playing golf and had the opportunity to play at Sugarloaf Mountain, widely considered to be one of the top 100 courses in the US .
TJ was predeceased by his parents, John and Betty, his sisters, Vicki and Marsha, and his brother Jeff.
Surviving siblings are Gregg and his wife Carolyn, Mike and his wife, Anne, and another brother, Scott.
TJs ashes will be transported to Brainerd, MN, at the resting place of his parents, Marsha and Jeff.
TJ had a small circle of friends, who loved his boisterous sense of humor.
