Visiting hours are to be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate funeral home 365 Main St, Saco. A 6:45 Masonic service will be held.
A funeral service will be held Thursday 10:00 AM at the United Baptist Church in Saco. Rev. Burt S. Howe will officiate.
Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Obituary:
Robert P. Tarbox, 85 of Dayton Maine passed away unexpectedly Friday evening November 2nd surrounded by his family. Robert was born on August 21, 1927 the youngest of Four children to Richard C. Tarbox and Barbara (Beal) Tarbox in Worcester, Massachusetts. He grew up in Saco Maine working as a young man for Fenderson’s Farm and graduating from Thornton Academy in 1945. Bob was a proud supporter of Thornton Academy continuing to follow their sports programs and changes throughout the past 65 years. Following his graduation from high school Bob was drafted in the United States Army and served during World War II. He began work at Saco Lowell, now known as General Dynamic Armament and Technical Products, where he worked many years as a Standards engineer and retired as Department Director in 1991.
In 1966, Bob married his loving wife of the past 45 years Caroline (Watkins) Tarbox. Bob and Caroline built a home in Dayton, Maine, where they have resided very happily for the past 42 years.
Bob has been happily involved throughout the community for all of his life being described by those who knew him as a consummate volunteer. He has been a volunteer for the Saco Valley Credit Union (formerly known as Maremont-Saco Employees Credit Union) for over 50 year in almost every role possible, most recently on the Board of Directors as Treasurer. He has served as the past chairman of the Maine Credit Union League and was appointed to the Credit Union National Association by his peers. Serving the credit union was one of Bob’s great joys and is where he had many close, longtime friends and admirers. Bob also was a volunteer and faithful parishioner at the United Baptist Church in Saco, Maine also serving as treasurer here. Bob was raised a Freemason in 1950 belonging to Arion Lodge 162 in Goodwins Mills, Maine receiving his 60 year star recently. Bob lived his life believing in volunteerism and contributing to his community, fostering his beliefs in others. Bob also loved working with his hands in his variety of gardens.
Bob is survived by his wife Caroline of Dayton, Children Stephen Tarbox and his fiancée Debbie Harriman of Buxton, Debbie (Tarbox) Dunlap and her husband Jerry of Bath, Dale Tarbox of Saco, John Tarbox and wife Theresa of Saco, and Michael Tarbox and wife Catherine of Limerick. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan Tarbox, Miriya Tarbox-Smith, Kyan Dunlap, Ashley Tarbox, Chelsea Tarbox, Campbell Tarbox as well as great grandchildren Lexy Burger and Avery Tarbox. Bob is predeceased by granddaughter Leisha Tarbox.
