A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 178 Elm Street Biddeford. Burial will be at Danville Cemetery, Danville, Quebec later this summer. Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, Saco Maine is respectfully handling the arrangements.
Obituary:
Saco, Maine – Cecile Luce Geoffroy, 94 passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born March 15, 1926 in Danville, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Phydime and Bibiane Phoenix Brodeur. She was educated at the L’Ecole Normale de Sherbrooke and taught elementary education. She worked as a teacher in Danville for 4 years and she also worked in a small rural school a few miles away until she became a mother, and this became her full-time job, teaching her 4 children French after school. Cecile also volunteered her teaching skills in the Madawaska elementary schools. She married J. Laurent Geoffroy in 1953, they recently celebrated their 67th anniversary in August of 2020.
Cecile was very active in the church and was a choir member of the St. Thomas Acquinas Church in Madawaska for many years. After her husband Laurent went to Edmunston, NB as the organist for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Cecile became a member of that choir.
Cecile was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Fr. Robert OSM, Gerald, Raymond, Fr. Marcel OSM, and Maurice; and sisters Srs. Bibiane, Monique and Madeleine, CND.
She is survived by her husband Laurent of Saco; daughters Jacinte Lytle of Harrison, OH and Lucie Hatch of Saco, Maine; sons Dr. Francois Geoffroy of Peoria, IL and Dr. Jean-Marie Geoffroy of Grayslake, IL; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

My sympathy to all the members of the Geoffroy family on the loss of Cecile. Losing your mother is the first of life's losses where your mother is not there to console you. My best to Jean-Marie. I hold fond memories of our days together at Doyon Pharmacy. Denise
