Obituary:
Marietta, Ga.: Anne E. Clough, formerly of West St. in Biddeford, passed away October 29, 2012 at the Marietta Living Center. Anne was born in Biddeford, Maine, July 20, 1921, the daughter of Clayton and Hazel Emery Clough, and the granddaughter of Alton and Amanda Clough of Portland and Lewis and Albertina Emery of Biddeford. She attended local schools and after moving to Portland with her family in 1937, graduated from Deering High School, class of 1939, and Gray's Business School. She worked for many years as a medical secretary, with her most recent employment being with Dr. Harvey Ansell. Anne lived with her family in Cape Elizabeth until 1973, at which time she and her mother moved to the Staples family homestead in Biddeford, where she lived until 2011 when she moved to the Atlanta, Ga. area. Anne, a lover of all animals, enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques and the company of her cats She was pre-deceased by her parents; a sister, Pauline McCormick of Falmouth; a nephew, Robert Towle of Standish; and her special friend, Alfred Bradford of Biddeford, with whom she attended many local events, especially at the Biddeford Historical Society. She is survived by a niece, Linda McCormick Rice, of Atlanta, Ga.
