Visitation Information:
Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening, Nov. 2, from 5-7 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located at the intersections of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd) in Buxton (Bar Mills). During the visitation at 6:30 PM, a service by members of Buxton Masonic Lodge #115 AF&AM will take place. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday morning at 11 AM at the South Buxton (Tory Hill ) Cemetery- Woodman (New) section.

Obituary:
BUXTON- Edward Paul LaPointe, age 67, of Quail Trail, passed away on Oct. 29, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sept. 21, 1945, a son of the late Arley P.and Gertrude B.(Davies) LaPointe.
Ed is a graduate of Venice Senior High School. Later he went on to graduate from West Los Angeles College with a degree as an I.T. Specialist.
Edward proudly served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Korea.
Mr. LaPointe was a pioneer as a specialist with computers. He began working for the government on early computer related projects and later as an I.T. Specialist with Blue Rock Industries. It was his expertise that brought that corporation into the computer age. He retired from Blue Rock Industries after 30 years of service.
Afterward, Ed went on to work at Lowe’s as a construction sales representative.
He was a member and Vice President of the JAYCEEs, President of the Maine Small Business Association and was raised as a Master Mason in Buxton Masonic Lodge #115 AF & AF on May 19, 1980.
He enjoyed golfing, dancing, cross country, boating, skiing, and many more sporting activities; however, his latest passion was riding his beloved Harley-Davidson Heritage motorcycle.
Ed is predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife Donna Rankin LaPointe whom he had 40 wonderful years of marriage with; and his canine companions- Flint and Maddie.
He is survived by his loving wife- Louisa Penny Skinner LaPointe; son- Eugene R. LaPointe; daughters- Robin L. Huff and Nancy J. MacKenzie; sister- Joy Cureton and her two children Samantha & Arianne; and grandchildren- Nathan, Aaron, Adam, Karsha, and J.R.
Ed touched the lives of all around him in his own special way and will be greatly missed.
