Visitation Information:
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 2-4 PM, followed by a 4 PM memorial service at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd) in Buxton (Bar Mills). Burial will be on Thursday at 11 AM at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.

Obituary:
BUXTON- David H. Slefinger, age 53, of Emery Circle, passed away on Oct. 11, 2012 at the Barron Center after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig ís disease.
He was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada on April 13, 1959, a son of the late Bernard and Catherine (Milligan) Slefinger.
After graduating from Woodland/Baileyville High School, he went on to graduate from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
For many years he was a manager at LaVerdiereís Drug Store which later became Rite Aid. While working at LaVerdiereís, he was the Director of Management Planning and Training and was recognized twice as Manager of the Year.
David was an avid New England sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching the Redsox and Bruins. He was also an avid music fan and enjoyed hits from Bruce Springsteen, Papa Chubby, Steely Dan, and etc. He also enjoyed mixed tapes from Mike Robb, a dear friend.
David enjoyed being with his family and was very involved with his two sons. He was involved with the BEISA program with Dana Rand.
Davidís family would like to thank all those individuals who cared for him since 2008. David expressed a huge thank you, to his wife Judy.
Besides his parents, David is predeceased by his stepmother- Berla Slefinger.
He is survived by his wife- Judy Slefinger; sons- Andrew Slefinger of Old Orchard Beach, Jeff Slefinger of Buxton; brother- Dan Slefinger of Minnesota; and sister- Natalie Toth of FL.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dave was a great teammate and friend. I will always remember the long trip from Orono to Western NY during Thanksgiving break in 1977. I will miss him on facebook as well. May God comfort you in your time of loss.
