A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, at 1 PM at South Buxton Cemetery in the new/Woodman section.

Obituary:
BUXTON- Wilena Vesta Rankin, age 93, of Narragansett Trail, passed away on Sept. 24, 2012 at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born in Hollis, Maine on June 6, 1919, a daughter of the late Alphonzo and Mary (Hern) Flint.
After graduating from Buxton schools, Wilena went on to work for Pepperell Manufacturing in Biddeford and Hughes Aircraft in California.
In her earlier years, Wilena played basketball in high school and played for the “Tigerettes”, which was a softball team at Pepperell Manufacturing.
She enjoyed cooking and was known for her baked bean dinners she had with her family. Wilena always enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
She is predeceased by a daughter- Donna LaPointe; sisters- Glennis and Hortence; brother- Meredith; and granddaughter- Linda.
Wilena is survived by her beloved husband Eugene Russell Rankin and their favorite cat “Dusty” of Buxton; daughter- Janice Macey of Westbrook; six grandchildren- Eugene, Robin, Kim, Kellie, Nancy, and Donna; eleven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Wilena’s family would like to thank the staff of the Gorham House, Beacon Hospice, and Arcadia Home Care for their compassion and support.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, at 1 PM at South Buxton Cemetery in the new/Woodman section. Arrangements are with Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home – Buxton. www.DCPate.com
