Obituary:
BIDDEFORD- Philip Franklin Gillin, age 54, of Biddeford, passed away on Sept. 18, 2012 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
He was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on July 13, 1958, the son of Gene and Ruth (Lubelan) Gillin.
He graduated from Cony High School and went on to attend Gordon College and North Bennet Street School of Craftsmanship in Boston for cabinet making and design.
Throughout his life, Philip has been self employed as a furniture and cabinet maker. He had worked extensively in Medford, MA and more recently at North Dam Mill in Biddeford. He had a keen ability to design contemporary furniture and will always be remembered for the enjoyment that brought him. Besides his love of building and designing furniture, Philip enjoyed reading and researching furniture designs on his computer.
He is survived by parents- Gene and Ruth Gillin of Old Orchard Beach; and sisters- Sarah R. Latimer and her husband Jeff of Winter Haven, FL, and Jennifer S. Harrison and her husband David of Beverly, MA.
