Obituary:
Scarborough – John W. Reed 65 of Old Orchard Beach passed away peacefully on April 26, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was born on April 6, 1954 in Butte, Montana, the son of William and Ruth Jorgensen Reed. He was educated in Montana schools and attended the University of Montana in Great Falls.
He was the manager of the Canal Bridge Campground in Fryeburg. Prior to moving to Maine, he worked as a CNA at Benefis Health Care in Great Falls, MT. He was a “jack of all trades” having worked as ranch hand, underground mining, rough neck on oil rigs and driller.
He enjoyed the outdoors: hiking, nature boating and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Paula Long Reed, his mother Ruth Jorgensen Reed Kuusisto, a brother Jerry, sisters Mary, Kathy and Shirley, a son, a daughter, 3 stepsons and 3 step daughters, 6 step grandsons and a step granddaughter, as well as many nieces and a nephew.
