A graveside service with US Navy Honors will be held at South Buxton Cemetery (Tory Hill) River Road in Buxton Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 11:00AM.

Obituary:
It is with sadness that we announce the passing on November 16, 2018 of QMC USN RET. Michael (Mike) R. Mandato, 87, of Narragansett Trail in Buxton Maine.
Born in Brooklyn, New York October 11, 1931 the son of Michael and Mary Diorio Mandato.
Michael served in the United States Navy for over 20 years. While in the Navy, he served on diesels and nuclear Submarines as an assistant Navigator. He served aboard the USS Ray, USS Sargo, USS Remora and the USS Daniel Boone. Mike served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets and including trips to Rome, Guam, and the Philippines.
After his service to his country, he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 16 years in the packing department.
He enjoyed reading and watching the New York Yankees.
Mike also enjoyed sports and was Past President of the Buxton Little League.
Michael is predeceased by a sister Mary Ann Loffredo.
Survivors include his wife of over 30 years Arlene “Snookie” Mandato of Buxton, 3 brothers James Mandato and wife Ginny of Ft. Pierce, FL, Thomas Mandato and wife Sally of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Joseph Mandato and wife Lou Ann of Phoenix, AZ, a daughter Gina Ballew and husband John of Fairfield, Me, 4 step sons Peter Pinkham and Tammy Black, Richard Pinkham and wife Rita, Philip Pinkham and wife Rose, David Pinkham and wife Tasha all of Buxton, 2 step daughters Teresa Larrivee and husband Tom, and Cathy Sargent and husband Chris both of Buxton, 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles.
