Visiting hours are to be held Wednesday June 20 from 4 to 7 PM at the Dennett, Craig, and Pate Funeral Home 365 Main Street, Saco. A funeral service will be held at 10 :00 AM Thursday June 21 at the First Parish Congregational Church, UCC, Beach Street, Saco, ME. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rebecca Mary Cushman, 80, passed away June 17, 2012.

She was born May 4, 1932 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, daughter of Howard and Hester (Williams) Hooper. Becky was married to Howard L. Cushman for 56 years before he passed away on July 24, 2008.

Becky was a proud graduate of Thornton Academy class of 1949. She studied Home Economics at Farmington State Teachers’ College. She worked at the York Teachers Credit Union, H&R Block, Camp Laughing Loon and served as a Girl Scout Leader. Becky was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the First Parish Congregational Church of Saco where she served as a deaconess, Youth Group Leader, and a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed needlework, sewing, golfing, gardening, skiing, tennis, bridge, and traveling with family and friends.

Becky is survived by her children and their spouses, Carolee Gates and husband, Robert of Bloomsburg, PA; Catherine Larochelle and husband, Guy of Portland; and son, Howard (Skip) Cushman and wife, Angela of Dayton. She also leaves behind a brother, Robert Hooper and wife Eloyd of Falmouth and a sister, Barbara Krause and husband, Barry of Schnecksville, PA . She will be missed by her six grandchildren, Brianna, Alyssa, and Craig Larochelle; Mari-Elise (Gates) Taube; Ashton and Connor Cushman; great-grandson Brayden: several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Becky was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Shirley Duross and Celia Lewis.
