Obituary:
Penobscot, Maine, Evelyn M. Thompson, 88, of Castine Road passed away Sunday September 16, 2018 at Stroadwater Lodge in Westbrook. She was born in Vinalhaven May 31, 1930 the daughter of John and Clara Walls Phillip.
She attended local schools and later graduated from Vinalhaven High school.
She worked for over 20 years for B & M in Vinalhaven.
Evelyn was a member of the Grange, Order of the Eastern Star of Vinalhaven and the Ladies Auxiliary of Vinalhaven.
She enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards.
Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Merrill Thompson in 2004, 4 sisters Gertrude, Priscilla, Margaret, Ruth and 3 brothers Arthur, Frederick, and Ralph.
She is survived by her son Edward Thompson and wife Carole of Buxton, 2 brothers Cecil Phillip of Rockland and Freeland Phillip and wife Hilda of South Thomaston, 2 grandchildren Kristie Pellerin of Dayton and Matthew Thompson of Saco, 4 great grandchildren Amelia and Carl Pellerin and Oliver and Graeme Thompson.
