A graveside service with US Army military honors will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish. Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation 13 Portland Rd Buxton ( Bar Mills) are entrusted with the arrangements.

Obituary:
Larry Clinton Giles – BUXTON – Larry C. Giles, 69, passed quietly on Monday December 11th, 2017 at his daughter’s home. He was born in Limington, Maine on May 21st, 1948 the son of Clinton Giles and Charlotte Brown.
Larry attended local schools and displayed his strong work ethic from a young age. He began delivering milk at age 8 for 25 cents per hour. After attending Bonny Eagle High School, Larry joined the US Army as a Truckmaster. He served with honor in the Vietnam Conflict where he was decorated with multiple awards including the Army Commendation Medal. Larry continued driving semi trucks after his military service and had long careers with Jewett Trucking and Hannaford Brothers. He retired from Hannaford in 2013.
Larry was an avid sports fan and closely followed NASCAR, Red Sox baseball, Patriots football, and local high school basketball. He loved spending time in his shop woodworking and building furniture. He also spent long hours playing cribbage with friends and family, and spending time with his grandson Wylie.
Larry is predeceased by his brother Rodney Brown and his parents. He is survived by his wife Joan, two sons Adam and Andrew Giles, two daughters Kirsten Morton and Whitney Giles, sister in law Peggy Brown, and his nine grandchildren Zachary, Joey, Sadie, Aiden, Lily, Ronnie, Wylie, Jacob, and Porter. Larry is also survived by his good friends Gary Adams and Britany Clement.
Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was uniquely steadfast and had an innate ability to find the root simplicity in any situation. It made him comforting to be around and a treasure to his children who looked to him for guidance.
