Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9-11:00 am at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street in Saco. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 403 Main Street in Saco. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service. A private graveside internment will be held in Eustis at a later date.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Julie Hadley and the staff at Hawthorne House for their excellent care during Judy’s later years.
In lieu of flowers, Judy’s family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either of the following organizations: Friends of the Peaks Island Library, 129 Island Avenue, Peaks Island, ME 04108 or Alzheimer’s Association, 383 US Route 1, Ste 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.

Peaks Island, ME – Judith Drew (Warnsman) McDermott 76, of Peaks Island passed away on November 7, 2017 at Hawthorne House in Freeport, ME. Born on February 20, 1941, Judy was the eldest daughter of Edward & Margaret Warnsman of Kingston, MA. She grew up in Kingston, attended Lyndon Institute in Vermont and graduated from Silver Lake High School.
Judy married her husband David of Taunton, MA in 1960. After living in Massachusetts and New York, they settled on Peaks Island to raise their family. For many years, Judy worked at Peaks Island Elementary School. After her retirement she enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Eustis, ME and their summer cottage on Cape Cod. She also enjoyed several trips to Ireland. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, quilting, baking and gardening and she was an avid Bruins fan. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren who loved receiving her handmade mittens, sweaters and quilts.
Judy is survived by her husband David, daughter Sethany Roberts and husband Dale of Saco, son Shawn McDermott and wife Lisa of Gorham, daughter Kelly of Waldoboro and her sister Carola Randall and husband Robert of Gardiner. She will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
